It is often the performers themselves who urge the composers to lend their art to make possible the exaltation of the technical skills resulting from long hours of study. Such is the case with the Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra that Franz Joseph Haydn wrote for Anton Weidinger (inventor of the key trumpet). In this unmissable recording Gabriele Cassone played two trumpets in E flat and E natural, copies of original instruments of the time and built under Cassone's supervision by Crsitan Bosc.
