Mozart's five Violin Concertos all originated in 1775 in Salzburg, when the composer's interest in the instrument and his violin skills were at their peak. In each case, whether they were intended to showcase his personal skill or were dedicated to the Italian Antonio Brunetti, violinist in the archbishop's orchestra and Mozart's future successor as Konzertmeister, these Concertos are brimming with youthful enthusiasm and vitality. This is what Giuliano Carmignola and Carlo De Martini masterfully bring out in this recording made to mark the release of the 100th issue of Amadeus.
