ALC_0178_Dances, Portraits and Orchestra

My music stems from a continuous search for original ideas and evolves through a constant balance between melody and harmony;
often, in my works, these two musical elements engage in a dialogue with one another.
Indeed, harmony is employed not merely to support melodic themes but as an integral part of the composition itself.
Chords and note clusters break apart to become melody in their own right, while the notes of the themes often separate, transform, and condense into groups that, in turn, become harmony.
The listener thus finds themselves caught between two "musical forces" that sometimes move in tandem, complementing each other, while at other times appearing almost in conflict.
The melody—acting like a compass to guide the listener—defines the flow and structure of my musical work.
The key to fully understanding my *modus operandi* is my constant search for new melodies—drawing on the Italian classical tradition—which I then reinterpret through a modern lens.
Fundamental to this process is my collaboration with Maestro Franco Poggiali Berlinghieri, who has long handled the orchestration of my more complex pieces and with whom I frequently consult to finalize certain works.
